How CanYouMod assesses games
CanYouMod is a free, unofficial field guide to universal-modder, the MIT-licensed game-modding plugin for Claude Code and other coding agents by rehan-remade. We help you decide whether a PC game is a good starting point before you install anything. We do not make the plugin, run it, or host mods.
What the three verdicts mean
Moddable offline
A documented offline route exists (an established loader, official tools or an upstream field note) and a small first mod is a reasonable goal.
Experimental
A community route exists, but compatibility depends on your exact build, or the upstream experiment is incomplete. Expect trial and error.
Not recommended
The standard client uses anti-cheat or live-service rules. We point to official creative tools instead and never to bypasses.
Sources and review process
- Each verdict cites its sources: the upstream universal-modder knowledge base and field notes, the loader or toolkit documentation (for example tModLoader, SMAPI, BepInEx, Creation Kit), and publisher anti-cheat or terms pages.
- Assessments are documentation-based. Where the upstream author reports an in-game test, we say which build was tested. We do not claim hands-on certification of other builds.
- All 36 game pages and the engine guides were last reviewed on October 4, 2026. Each game page shows its own review date.
- The full dataset is public as JSON and as plain text.
What we will never help with
- Anti-cheat, DRM or license bypasses.
- Cheats or injection in multiplayer or competitive sessions.
- Uploading your game files; the checker runs without an account.
